Ever have that feeling of doing everything right, but not being that happy?
That’s where I was with my Easthampton custom garage interior design. (see previous)
Kind of like being on a diet – I’m following the plan, I feel good about my progress… BUT
I had completed the project to spec, yet I felt like something was missing

Another client from Brooklyn supplied the answer:
“Peter – You haven’t put your own personal thumbprint on the project”
Eureka!
- Nothing in the space felt unique
- Nothing in the space felt fresh and imaginative
- Nothing in the space gave the feeling of creativity
Solution? – Pick the nearest object and pour some heart and soul into it
I took one tiny part of the contract – a $200. firewood holder from Brookstone, and decided to jettison it in favor of my own concept of what really belonged in this wonderful home
Here are some progress shots of the Firewood holder – I hope you like it so far:

Here is a shot of the finished product
Like my mother said, “It looks awful spiffy to be holding firewood”
